Ease Back Into A Modified Workout Routine

Try New Types Of Exercises
Quite a few exercise-induced injuries are due to overuse. To help your body build up supporting muscles and take the load off of the recently recovered area, you may want to try new exercises and cross-train.
Many people have tunnel vision when it comes to exercise and stick to one type of workout predominately. For an example, if you were an avid cyclist but have struggled with tendonitis or other issues with your legs, you may want to look into strength training to build up the rest of your body and strengthen the supporting muscles in your legs which can be neglected while you cycle.
Swimming is another full body option for most people to use for cross-training, as it takes most of the pressure off your body while still engaging your muscles.
Stay Aware Of How Your Body Feels
More than anything, you need to stay aware of how your body feels as you start working out again. While exercising often means working through a certain amount of discomfort, you need to be aware if your body is sending sharp pain signs, which means you need to immediately dial back on your workout.
Also, if your workouts are leaving you sore for hours and drained, it is a sign that you are pushing yourself too hard and you need to ease off from your current exercise routine.
