A home gym is undoubtedly an investment, but a worthwhile one – especially if you want the perks and benefits of a fitness center, minus the expensive membership and any other bells and whistles that aren’t necessary for you and your fitness goals.
Training at home has become a new trend, due to the limited accessibility of some fitness centers as well as people running low on time – what better solution than to have your own gym in the comfort of your own home, accessible at your leisure?
That being said, it can be challenging to scour the internet to find a home gym that suits your needs appropriately. Today, we’re going to compare and contrast two of the more popular fitness brands on the market that both have a home gym system–the ProForm Vue and the Tempo. The information delivered on these two home gym systems should point you in the right direction and give you the details needed in order to find one that is best suited for you and your home!
ProForm Vue vs Tempo
The ProForm Vue comes in at a price point of $999 and comes equipped with a one month iFit membership that’s good for the entire family. The iFit membership allows you access to a virtual training platform, with the ability to stream on-demand workouts at any time of the day – perfect for those early risers, late nighters, and everyone in between.
The virtual workouts can be viewed on a 22” vertical touchscreen, which looks like a reflective mirror when not in use while simultaneously giving you the ability to see your reflection as you workout to ensure your form and technique is correct.
The reflective screen can be rotated side to side, and behind the 60” reflective surface is storage for your included workout accessories! The accessories include a 10-pound barbell, two 5 pound dumbbell bars, and four 2.5 pound weight plates – all a perfect addition for your strength training workouts! If you need tunes for your exercise sessions, the Vue has two 3” speakers built into the console – making it easy to hear your trainer and music! These speakers also pair with Bluetooth headphones, allowing you to work out in silence if needed.
Tempo vs ProForm Vue Mirror
The Tempo is priced at $2,495, and has an exciting feature – the machine emits infrared light that captures your form while you exercise – giving you a way to improve your overall movement technique as you workout. The Tempo program also helps you count your reps, and keeps track of the progress you’re making as you exercise – while also giving you the ability to check back in later to review anything. All of these features are great, but you’ll have to spend an extra $39 a month to access these on-demand workouts and classes, viewed on the 42” high definition touchscreen.
The total size of the Tempo is 6’ high by 2’2” wide and 1’4” deep. You’ll also have to consider workout space since the Tempo needs 6-8’ of clearance in front of it to work correctly. The small footprint of the Tempo is sturdy enough to hold weights and barbells behind it, hiding your fitness accessories when not in use. The starter Tempo package comes with a workout mat, two 7.5 pound dumbbells, four collars, and 75 pounds worth of weight plates.
If this isn’t enough equipment for you, no worries – their Tempo Plus and Tempo Pro packages include a lot more equipment….you’ll just have to find the one that works best for you! The Tempo is also Bluetooth capable and comes with 60-watt stereo speakers so you can hear your trainers loud and clear.
Bottom Line: ProForm Vue vs Tempo Home Gym
The ProForm Vue and the Tempo are both fantastic home gyms. Not only do they both provide accessories to complement your workouts and a clear viewing screen that can hide away equipment when not in use, but you’re also sure to get a solid workout with either machine.
That being said, you’ll need to figure out if the price point for the Tempo is worth it in terms of the 3D scan that comes along with it for a form check – otherwise, maybe you’ll be content with the iFit features that come with the ProForm Vue. Regardless, you’re sure to get a heart-pumping workout with the exercises of your choice!
